Look, I’m not above admitting that I only run this site to extol the brilliance that is Matt, the man who runs the original “remember this?” site: X-Entertainment. He’s been doing this shit since before youtube, before blogs were called “blogs,” and before anyone was talking about Thundercats after 1988. He is a genius, a gift, and the reason I read the internet every day. Well, no one online quite appreciates Halloween quite like Matt does, and Matt has begun his 2011 Halloween Countdown. Observe and appreciate. You owe him:

I am super excited for the dots, especially the ghost dots.

These ghost dots have been part of legend ever since X-Entertainment reviewed them way back in 2007.

I also reviewed them last year. They were a hit at parties, and I don’t foresee them disappointing this year either. Look at them in all their glory:

If you know anything about Halloween Countdowns (and you should), you know that there’s really only one game in town that matters, and it’s the X-E Halloween Countdown. Matt has come out of hiding and blessed us all with an article about Halloween Chips Ahoy!

Ok. Now it’s officially the start of the Halloween season. One of my favorite websites of all time, X-Entertainment, has begun its 2008 Halloween Countdown. Even though Matt is not nearly as prolific as he was in his glory days of the early 2000′s, the fact that the man started the “Hey, remember the toys we had in the 80′s?” retro shit looooong before there was a youtube or any VH1 specials demands your respect. He was writing X-Entertainment when blogs were still called “websites.” Yea. Truly scary. 

I digress, but the Halloween Countdown has for the last 5 years been one of my favorite parts of the Halloween season, and it’s become a new tradition in its own right. Thank god it’s back. Go and indulge in one man’s celebration of all that is special about the season.
