So that was easy. I do want to take a moment and recognize the fact that we are on October Eve, which means the greatest month of the year is going to begin in less than 24 hours.
We have costumes, parties, movies, candy, toys, all kinds of great things to look forward to this month. I think Halloween season causes a more general happiness and positive vibe than even the Christmas season does.
Seriously people. It’s about to be October. The weather is frightful and delightful, the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. It’s the beginning of the end of the year. It’s so many good things that I am simply rambling and cannot contain myself.
October also contains the birthday of yours truly. You only have a few days to send me presents.
Barely survived the night, goodbye Halloween

‘Vampire Killers’, a short-but-sweet web series
Sunday, October 26th, 2008 by PriceI have to admit, this is pretty cool. The concept of an evil (redundant) groups of vampire vixens who are plotting to wipe out mankind will always get my vote for a good plot.
Our heroes are a group of vampire killers in L.A. aiming to wipe out the ~500,000 vampires who are providing and ever increasing number of dead bodies. They are fighting a race of female vampires, who enjoy eating flesh and making out. YES.
To be honest, I haven’t really been able to get into any web shows, and I’ve only recently gotten into web comics. For someone who spends almost every waking moment in front of a computer, if I have the desire to watch a film or show, I do it in front of the TV.
However, I quickly ran through the 6 episodes in one sitting. They were very addicting, and for what limited budget the crew had, were exceptionally well filmed and visually appealing, beyond what I would have thought possible. The music is very haunting as well. Thumbs up.
Creator Doug Hutchison has created an interesting cast of characters, headlined by queen vampire Anesia Titov and the aforementioned vampire killers. The lore behind this particular brand of vampire and also the killers who chase them is available on the site, and I only hope that these episodes can continue, or perhaps make it into book or graphic novel form (for us literate folk).
The concept behind the show is quite intriguing as well, as the idea to is to have a grassroots Internet production company kept alive by viewer donations, which is pretty cool. Long live horror!
Take half an hour and watch these. It’s Halloween week after all.

Mr. Potato Head Halloween Edition: Trick or Tater
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 by PriceI could not resist myself. I personally was not a big fan of the Star Wars or any other special edition Mr. Potato Head. Frankly, I never cared for Mr. or Mrs. Potato Heads that much since I never had one as a child. For some reason I always equated ownership of a Mr. Potato Head with prestige and power. But I digress.
As I usually do in Wal Mart, I buy anything and everything that I know I probably wouldn’t get a chance to buy when back in the city. Considering it is Halloween season, I fell easily for this thing.
Stussy Halloween T-Shirts
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 by PriceThink you can carve a good pumpkin? This guy will school you.
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 by PriceArtist Ray Villafane creates some amazing pieces. One of his mediums happens to be the pumpkin. Oh that just fits in with our theme too perfectly. Some of my favorites are Frankenstein, this Devil-Skull, and certainly, the mother-fucking Predator himself.
I mean, seriously. Check out this spread of tools he uses:
Holy Clive Barker, no wonder these things come out so evil-looking. I know of several mad scientists and sadists who could KILL for these.
Attempt to follow his very well-written instructions here.
