Shit to Do: Nightmares Haunted House in NYC

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 by Price

The Nightmares Haunted House is up and running again in NYC (already has been for a few weeks in fact). I went once and honestly wasn’t all that impressed, but that was before they had a badass website that pimps their place pretty good, so I’m thinking I’ll give it a chance this year.

UPDATE: So I may have spoken too soon … check out this review on The Horror of It All … sounds like it’s less bite than desired.

More Dethklok obsession/madness. Listening party next Wednesday night (the 23rd) for anyone in the NYC area. I’ve heard the album, and it’s fantastic. We all love a drink special too.

Zombie Lego toy (sorry, you can’t buy ‘em)

Thursday, October 16th, 2008 by Price

Here at the Devil’s Demons, Vincent and I absolutely love toys. Get used to toy-related posts. If there’s one thing we will not outgrow, it is spending money on useless items that look really good on our desks but won’t assist in any other area.

This is outdated, but I just could not resist posting this.  DYZPlastic, a division of Brooklyn artist Andrew Bell’s Dead Zebra, Inc created this toy a little over a year ago.

If you think that’s cool, then you can actually buy one of Andrew’s pieces from Creatures in my Head.  And if you’re in NYC tonight (Thursday October 16th) you can head to Kid Robot NYC between 6 and 8 pm to pick up his latest toy Kidreaper and get it autographed:

Pretty killer. It glows in the dark for fuck’s sake. Other buy some other evil shit.

The Midnight Meat Train, or “Clive Barker Getting the Shaft”

Thursday, September 18th, 2008 by Price

If you want to see a sad yet genuine display of girly excitement and childish behavior, witness Vincent and I watching a horror movie trailer over and over again, discussing how “sick”, “brutal”, “ridiculous”, or “yay!” the movie looks.

For myself, there is an additional multiplier involved when said movie is a Clive Barker vehicle.  Ever since I discovered Pinhead and the Hellraiser series, eyes-wide in my friend’s basement clutching a blanket and a 2-liter of Mountain Dew, I knew horror was for me.  Fast forward to today, and I am super-stoked to see his latest offering, Midnight Meat Train.
