The Physics of Hell
Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 by PriceThere is a pretty cool article in the Boston Globe which discusses the measuring of Dante’s Hell in some of Galileo’s lectures, which overall contributed to some of the more crucial scientific theories (and general shifts in thinking) from outdated abstract concepts (based more in faith and tale) to mathematics. Such as, if Hell were as constructed as Dante describes, the earth would have collapsed in on itself.
Really fascinating.
