zombcon

Anyone in or around Seattle? If you are, then on Halloween weekend you should definitely be checking out Zombcon.

This festival should be badass. You have Bruce Campbell. You have two of my favorite authors, Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club) and Max Brooks (duh), and the godfather of zombie flicks, George Romero. I wish I was there.

58

58. For 1958. In 1958, on June 22, 1958, the great Bruce Campbell was born.

Bruce Campbell is pretty much the most awesome person ever put on this earth. He is synonymous with campy yet creepy yet cheesy yet quality horror movies, and has garnered more respect in the industry than anyone could have ever imagined.

To try and list all the movies and projects he has been involved in that I love would be pointless. Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, XENA WARRIOR PRINCESS, all of them. All so good. He’s written books, is a pop culture icon, and has the greatest chin in history. I love him.

Here’s to the greatest Bruce of them all.

While purusing the Geeks of Doom today, I came across their very lovely review of the DVD for My Name is Bruce. I still haven’t seen the movie, but after reading the condensed comic version, I have been looking forward to it.

Let me say that I absolutely love Bruce Campbell, and pretty much everything that he touches. So the fact that I haven’t already seen this movie disturbs me very greatly. I just need to get over myself and see it.

I also think that he’s pretty much the only actor who could ever portray himself in a movie and get away with it. The chin lives.

Bruce Campbell on Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!

Bruce Campbell needs no introduction and SHALL RECEIVE NONE. However, he was the celebrity guest on this week’s episode of NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me. If you’ve never heard the show it may be confusing, but if you’d like to hear Bruce Campbell inject some of his trademark wit into a random NPR news quiz show, do so now (Bruce’s section starts at (17:00).
