We Caught Rabies
Thursday, April 28th, 2011 by VincentLast night, as part of the TriBeCa Film Festival, Price and I saw what is billed as the “first Israeli horror movie” – Rabies. Whether that’s true or not I can’t attest to (I don’t honestly see how it could be, but it’s irrelevant). The movie was really damn good. The entire film was shot in Israel, and the dialog is in Hebrew, so you’ll need to be able to scan subtitles pretty quickly (who knew Israelis spoke at 400 wpm?).
Below is the trailer. I can’t imagine it won’t get picked up for wide release shortly, so when it does, catch it.
Note – The trailer is not subtitled, but you really don’t need subtitles to understand the international language of gore, terror, boobs, and woodland urination.
It’s too hot too write about horror … BUT
Thursday, April 21st, 2011 by PriceThere is a lot of good horror-related stuff coming up this summer. TV and Movies come to mind. And other debauchery. More to come soon, we promise.
FEAR NET talks with Ti West About The Innkeepers
Wednesday, March 16th, 2011 by VincentI love Ti West. I honestly think he’s the only horror director around today doing unique work, and he seems to know it because he continues to work very hard at it. His last film, House of the Devil, was brilliant. His new film, The Innkeepers, is set for release “in 2011,” and he recently caught up with FEAR NET at SXSW to discuss the location, filming, and the newly released poster for The Innkeepers. Read up here.
Virgin Airlines is KVLT as Fvck
Monday, March 7th, 2011 by PriceAccording to the Deciblog, and I totally agree. I actually enjoy the safety video from Virgin, if only for the little black metal passenger in proper corpsepaint.
Office Horror
Monday, February 28th, 2011 by PriceI showed up on Friday to witness the results of an office decorating contest we had, and let me say, I was in utter Heaven (or Hell, I should say …)!
Long story short, I work on a video product, and our theme was around this gorilla, who sucked in old shitty movies, and would “output” shiny ones. Either way, they needed to use a lot of old movie posters for effect, and ended up pretty much exclusively buying old horror posters, which made my day.
My team won the contest needless to say.
More after the jump …
Paranormal Activity 2 Promotes DVD Release With Free Augmented Reality iPhone Game
Thursday, February 17th, 2011 by VincentArs Technica posted a cool article yesterday detailing the release of a new AR (Augmented Reality) game for the iPhone. It was developed to promote the upcoming release of Paranormal Activity 2 on DVD, and I was curious so I downloaded the game.
I’ve yet to fully explore it, but it is surprisingly large and involved for a game that could have been a total throwaway. The basic gameplay involves the user (you) navigating a map of your area (NYC being mine) investigating haunted locales. Once you find one you can search for ghosts, draw pentagrams to protect yourself, and generally act like a fool right out in public. It’s surprisingly fun.
I snapped the photo above last night as I was waiting to get my hair cut. Ghost, busted. Give it a whirl.

Ghoul (left) and Zombie (right)

This is what I’m talking about. Some real hard hitting analysis and dissection of the difference between ghouls and zombies. I stumbled upon this excellent article while searching for the specific difference in the D&D world, and I’m glad I did. We need more thought-provoking pieces about REAL issues.
Wopsploitation
Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 by VincentWhile looking for reviews of Twins of Evil last night, I stumbled across a horror movie blog called “Wopsploitation.” I don’t really have much more to say other than there is a horror blog, started in 2007, that is STILL being updated, called “Wopsploitation.” That is fantastic.

His rating scale is pretty great (a two star movie is described as “A Michelob Wednesday night date with Junction Deb. You’ll empty your egg-purse but you wouldn’t brag about it to anybody”) and he has some pretty good reviews too. Not the usual shit, he reviews some obscure gems. Go read.
Android’s Horrifying Back-Alley Surgery Ad
Monday, February 7th, 2011 by VincentThere were lots (ok, a few) of great commercials during lsat night’s Super Bowl. The only one relevant to this blog, however, was Sony Ericsson’s super-grisly back-alley surgery commercial. It was very evocative of Tim Burton’s Joker surgery scene from Batman. This will tickle Price as well, because he 1) Works for Google and 2) missed all of the commercials due to being in London during game time.
