Rubber (quick review)
Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 by PriceIf there’s one thing that can help cure the summer blues, it’s a good horror movie. I’ve already seen quite a few lifesavers this season that have saved otherwise miserable days.
Rubber was one of those, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the most creative movies I have ever seen. I could also understand why some people might call it one of the dumbest movies they have ever seen.
I’m not going to spoil anything by telling you that the movie is about a tire that kills people. That’s pretty obvious. What I won’t tell you are some of the other ridiculousness that occurs within the plotline. You’re left speechless and thinking “WTF????” plenty of times. But you sort of give in to the stupidity, and embrace it. You have to.
It’s got to be a difficult task to try and act in such an absurd setting. I give kudos to the cast who provided some of the finest B-grade horror movie acting I have ever seen. They got me laughing for the duration of the film.
