IMMORTAL
April 13th, 2010 by PriceVincent and I went to see Immortal Tuesday, March 30th. As it was when we last saw them in 2007, it was a complete and utter shitshow. I awoke completely confused on Wednesday morning, knowing nothing except that I had my face melted the night before.
The lead up to the show was epic. For weeks, we were faced with dilemmas. To wear or not to wear corpsepaint? Do I need to take the next day off of work? Do we need to invest in spikes?
We had VIP passes. This meant a 4:30 meet and greet before the show (sadly we have 9 to 5 jobs, so we missed that), but a free poster and sign and greet session after the show!
We (mostly me) failed epically. We had nothing to get autographed. No stores around our jobs had Immortal CDs in stock for us to pick up last minute and get signed. “No worries,” we thought. “We’ll just pick up CDs at the show!” Hmm.
Well, at the show, no CDs at the merch booth. Great. At least we have our free poster! Except no, there wasn’t a poster! WTF!
Whatever. We still rocked the fuck out, and Immortal played a KILLER set.
Staying around and meeting the band at least would have been the acceptable thing to do. However, since I was so drunk I could no longer stand, I was having none of that, and the next thing I recall is waking up Wednesday morning. Oh well, it was still a black metal success!
Here are a few good photos/galleries from the show (and yes, I actually took the pictures in this post).
