“Bitches”, you can’t tell me that title will stick
January 23rd, 2009 by PriceThis is a bit of old news, but Fox has announced that it’s going to develop a show this year called “Bitches“, which is supposed to be Sex and the City with werewolves. A bottle of wine deep last night, I had a few thoughts regarding this:
- First and foremost, who does Fox think they’re fooling by using a titled called Bitches? That’s really going to attract the female viewers. Not that females will be watching the show anyways, but still. The chance of it staying is as good as the odds of Rob Zombie making a good movie.
- I love horror. The more the merrier. But this recent obsession with horror-based TV shows is getting annoying. I could live with Dexter and True Blood, but with this and other projects rumored to be in the works, I’m worried that we’ll have an overload of horror resulting in a dark age again of crappy early 80′s horror.
- Werewolves just aren’t nearly as cool as other creatures. They just turn into wolves and run around killing people. You can do that without becoming a wolf.
- Fox sucks.
- No werewolf idea will ever compare to Teen Wolf.

If it’s being billed as “Sex and the City w/werewolves”, and has a name like “Bitches”, then I disagree with you – they are ABSOLUTELY going for women.
The whole vamp/werewolf thing is smokin’ hot right now, just like Fox to jump on the band wagon about 2 years late.

You really think so? Maybe I’m out of touch, but if you say so, I believe you.
Fox gets the HBO-less crowd, they can stay behind the game a bit.
