Devilishly Good Books Terrify And Delight

I listen to NPR. If that makes me an “elitist” then go watch Fox News. The chip is now off of my shoulder.
So today as I was cruising around npr.org I came across this sweet little article about 3 excellent horror books. 2 things immediately stuck out at me – one was that I never even knew The Exorcist was a book (this probably makes me an idiot), and two was that I’d totally forgotten about Wisconsin Death Trip. Many years ago when I was in high school and istened to music that I might today call “terrible,” I was a fan of a little band called Static-X. Embarrassing? Yes. Regardless, I remember their first cd quite fondly and I also remember hearing that it was named after a “disturbing” or “awesome” book called Wisconson Death Trip. I pushed that knowledge to the back of my brain where it was subsequently beaten into non-existence by a 4 year period of massive alcohol abuse commonly referred to as college. 10 years later, NPR reminds me.
Public radio is good for you.
